How to Get a Utah Journeyman Plumber license
- Meet the minimum experience requirements (see below)
- Submit a completed application and fees to the Utah DOPL
- Take and pass the Utah plumbers exam
- Journeyman Experience
- 4 years full-time as a licensed apprentice while enrolled in an approved training program that includes at least 576 classroom hours OR
- 8 years full time as a licensed apprentice outside an approved training program
- Residential Journeyman Experience
- 3 years full time as a licensed apprentice while enrolled in an approved training program that includes at least 432 classroom hours OR
- 6 years full time as a licensed apprentice outside an approved training program
