How to Get a Washington Plumber License

  1. Meet the experience requirements:
    1. Journeyman: Have completed 8,000 hours in their four years as a plumbing trainee.
    2. Residential Plumber:
      1. Residential (PL02): 6,000 hours in the specialty
      2. Residential Service (PL04): 4,000 hours as a plumber trainee
  2. Submit an application and pay the applicable fees
  3. Study for and pass your exam
