Oklahoma plumbers must complete 6-hours of continuing education every 36 months. Licenses must be renewed every year on the last day of their birth month. Continuing education must have been completed within 36 months of their license deadline or the state will not process the renewal.

Apprentices typically need a high school diploma to get started. You gain all of the education and training you need on the job, while being paid. Apprenticeships last between 4 and 5 years depending on the state (check your state for specific details). During your apprenticeship you will acquire between 7.500 and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and typically between 500 hours and 750 hours of in-class instruction. Once you have met your state's requirements you will mostly complete an exam to get to the next stage of licensing.

If your license has lapsed past 90 days, you must apply for reinstatement and appear before the board. Applicants for license renewal must provide the board with evidence of completion of 8-hours of continuing education or training that is board-approved, completed within the previous 2 years and two of which must be code review. A copy of a certificate is acceptable evidence of this.

You must renew/revive your license within (2) two years of the expiration date or you will be required to complete a new application and re-test before receiving a new license. The fee and the additional requirements must be received before your license will be renewed/revived.
