Public health scientists are calling for “potty parity” in the United Kingdom after a survey shows there are not enough public toilets available. The Royal Society for Public Health commissioned a study and asked 2,000 people questions about bathroom accessibility in the UK. 74% said there were not enough public toilets in their area.
The researchers are calling on the government to invest in more public toilets and reverse cuts to civil infrastructure. They want more bathroom plumbing available and accessible in the area.
The report goes on to say that women need twice as many toilets because of “time consuming factors related to clothing, menstruation and anatomical differences.” In the country, the existing standard is constructing equal amounts of bathrooms for men and women.
Fixing the public bathroom crisis could stimulate jobs for a host of local plumbers in order to get the job done. No plans are yet in place.
Plumbers are already in demand in the UK and the field is growing. Stats show that plumbers can make between £22,000 and £35,000 a year.
